University Chef of the Year 2024
Richard Scoops A Win
A huge congratulations to our very own Executive Head Chef, Richard Narramore, who has only gone and scooped the University Chef of the Year award at this year’s British Culinary Federation Awards – annual awards that aim to recognise individuals within the industry.
Lifetime Achievement
Having dedicated some 30 years to the University of Exeter, Richard has worked his way up through the ranks and now has overall responsibility for the culinary offering across both Exeter campuses – fuelling some 29,000 students and 6,000 staff.
Richard has clocked up a wealth of experience, ranging from prestigious conferences to high-profile fine dining. He says the highlight of his career to date was being given the honour of cooking for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip when they came to Exeter in 2012 to open the University’s flagship Forum building.
With a string of accolades under his belt, our Executive Chef is proud to have led his team through this year’s TUCO competitions, notching up multiple gold and bronze awards as well as a fiercely contested TUCO Innovation Award, not forgetting the CUBO Creativity in Catering Award, which recognised our Forum Kitchen concept dining on campus.
Congratulations From us All
It comes as no surprise that Richard’s talents stand out from the crowd and we are all incredibly thrilled and proud that his skills have finally been recognised. We look forward to seeing where his culinary journey takes us next.
