Event Exeter Unveils a Refreshed Brand Vision

Event Exeter Brand

Event Exeter, the commercial events team at the University of Exeter, has recently unveiled a refreshed brand identity and vision. This new vision reinforces a long-standing commitment to eventing excellence while aligning more closely with the University’s Strategy 2030 and its ambition to create a greener, healthier, and fairer future.

Established in 2009, Event Exeter has gone from strength to strength, offering high-quality venues, catering, event services, and support—generating income to be reinvested back into the University. The updated brand vision outlines the team’s primary goal: to be the academic event venue of choice, where people, excellence, and sustainability are at the core of everything they do. This reaffirms their dedication not only to delivering exceptional event services but also to playing an active role in creating a more sustainable future.

Acknowledging the environmental, social, and economic impacts of events, Event Exeter is committed to embedding environmentally friendly practices across all areas of event delivery—whether through catering, transport, or delegate giveaways. They have recently launched their own Sustainable Event Policy, which formalises existing efforts and encourages collaborative thinking around sustainability among event organisers, suppliers, and attendees.

The policy outlines key areas for consideration during event planning, with a focus on:

  • Sourcing: Examples include working closely with regional, like-minded suppliers with strong sustainability credentials, adhering to the University’s Sustainable Food Policy, avoiding single-use products, and encouraging the use of recyclable event décor, signage, and equipment.
  • Environment: Examples include encouraging the use of public transport and car sharing, working with stakeholders to provide reduced transport fares for event delegates, offering substantial electric car-charging facilities on site, and providing hybrid event options to reduce the carbon footprint of events.
  • Society: This includes engaging with local ethical suppliers, promoting local culture and biodiversity, supporting environmental initiatives, ensuring events are accessible and inclusive, and offering continuous sustainability development opportunities to the Event Exeter team.

“We are extremely proud of our updated brand identity and vision and excited for the next chapter of our story. It’s not about changing who we are—we still deliver exceptional event experiences—we’ve just become more mindful in our operations,” said Simon Law, Director of Catering, Retail Services and Commercial Development.

“We are delighted to support the University of Exeter’s future-proofing goals and are fully engaged with Strategy 2030. Our Sustainable Event Policy underpins our commitment to placing green practices at the heart of our event management service and to providing a platform for high-profile events, such as the Exeter Climate Forum. This includes both the Exeter Climate Conference and the Global Tipping Points Conference, taking place here at the University this summer. We are honoured to play a part in delivering these crucial events, which will bring together world-leading climate researchers, businesses, policymakers, and young people—a fundamental forum for collaboration and connection, inspiring action on climate change and helping to shape the priorities for COP30.”

From large residential conferences to festivals and gala dinners, Event Exeter continues to build its portfolio of events and venues across the award-winning campuses of the University of Exeter, exceeding customer expectations time and again.

This timely refresh marks the next step in Event Exeter’s journey of evolution, ensuring that every event contributes positively to the University’s sustainability goals and the global effort to address climate change.
